Co-founder of global experts in ethical supply chain management Verisio, Leon was intimately involved in the development of the ‘Optimus’ software which manages supply chain mapping, self-assessment questionnaires, risk assessment modelling, on-site and desktop auditing and corrective action follow-up.

Verisio has teams of ethical auditors in the UK and Asia and its clients are many of the most well-known retailers and brands in the UK.

Sociometry and Verisio have developed an offering for Australasia to solve supply chain vulnerabilities by conducting human rights due diligence that includes desktop auditing and utilisation of Verisio’s network of factory audits in Greater China and across South East Asia.  

Susan Fleming-Wilson, Event Producer

Founder and Managing Director of ACT Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd, Susan draws on over 25 year’s international leadership, organisational management, IT, risk assessment and business development experience. An accomplished public speaker, her experience in economics with CEDA, the Committee for Economic Development of Australia and the UWA Oceans Institute and the Australian Institute of Management, add a broad range of colleagues and business imperatives to her work.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Education, Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management and is a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors. As Producer Susan spent 10 years in the international film and television industry. Susan sits on three industry boards, as Director. The Child Safety Foundation board CCCSF, IFAP, Institute for Prevention of Injury and ISTIH Institute for Safety Training in Health.

Mehrdad Nazari, Senior E&S Advisor

Mehrdad has over 25 years of professional experience, including 10 with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), advising responsible developers and investors. Mehrdad’s advisory practice focuses on renewable energy, mining and private equity. He makes ESIAs bankable, contributes to Independent Engineer/Monitoring Groups, serves on expert panels before independent accountability and arbitration tribunals, and provides sustainability reporting and assurance services.

Previously, Mehrdad headed ESG Research at CoreRatings, London (now DNV), working with a team of 20 analysts and advising socially responsible asset managers; served as Principal Environmental Specialist at the EBRD (London), reviewing and monitoring a high-risk investment portfolio exceeding $3 billion; and was Project Manager and EHS Auditor with Dames & Moore Frankfurt (now URS), supporting blue-chip clients with their compliance and M&A-related due diligence initiatives.

Mehrdad studied in Germany (BSc-equivalent, Mineralogy, J.W. Goethe) , USA (Fulbright grantee) and the UK, He holds an MBA (Henley, UK) and MSc (Hydrogeology, University of Birmingham, UK). He has also attended numerous courses ranging from ISO 14001 EMS to Human Rights and Impact Assessment, and delivered numerous courses related to IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and sustainability reporting. Mehrdad is also owner/director of Prizma LLC and based in the USA.
